Germany, Wehrmacht. A General Assault Badge consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac Herbert Sutcliffe(Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, around a central Heer style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 42. 82 mm (w) x 53. 91 mm (h), weighing 24. 1 grams, a rare example of a zink badge retaining virtually all of its
