The bark has a distinctive pinkish brown colour when young and as it matures, it develops dark fissures. The tree has an upright habit and grows to reach heights of 12m with a spread of 5m in a 20 year period. It has slightly pendulous branches with conical, lightly toothed edged, bright and glossy yellow green leaves. The foliage turns to a lovely
