A round medal constructed of silver, with a horizontally oriented oval fixed loop for suspension from its period original tri fold ribbon, the obverse with a rightward facing effigy of Ferdinand I, circumscribed Ferdinand Kaiser von Oesterreich in capital letters, marked I. D Boem F. near the bottom, the reverse inscribed Der Tapferkeit (For Bravery) within a
